The Mercedes Benz-Museum and a weekend in Heidelberg

[My ability to update my blog is being affected by multiple things as of late; 1) laziness and 2) long days at uni make me tired easily :P but sorry for the poor effort, i will try now to catch up]

Saturday 9th Jan-Sunday 10th Jan
Stuttgart & Heidelberg

Today we made our way to the Mercedes-Benz Museum for a second time and would actually take a tour of the whole building. The building was a real highlight of the last couple of weeks and just fantastic.

Starting in the foyer which I showed photos of previously, groups enter little capsules which race up the side of the huge void in the centre of the building and then the layout of the museum orders you downwards to ground-level, with the time-scale and progress of the company increasing in that direction.

After finishing the tour of the museum we had lunch and then quickly headed off to Heidelberg, about a 1hr journey from Stuttgart. After booking into the hostel we made our way to the old district where the restaurants and nightlife dominated. I apologize for the quality of the photos in advance - they were taken on a compact since I didn't want to take out the slr that night...

This is the last photo taken of the night after finding a pub that apparently the entire of Heidelberg had crammed into; all that can be said is that it did not end particularly well for myself....

The following day after a late wake-up and fairly delayed venture out into the town, we set off to visit the castle which we had seen from the town square the previous night. Nursing a slight hangover we took a look around the grounds before venturing inside the rooms and then outside to see the amazing view across the town.

Getting to the top of the castle and seeing the view across the rest of Heidelberg made getting up early that morning very worth it and the weekend itself was easily marked as a success.
